Maintenance Technician

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing diversified duties related to building construction, plumbing and electrical work. Position will install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain the facility and the facilities equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the site’s business goals and objectives.

Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Perform diversified duties to install and maintain the facility and the facilities equipment
  • Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs and performs scheduled maintenance repairs
  • Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing repairs
  • Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments
  • Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and other assets in the facilities
  • Perform a variety of plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties
  • Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision
  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas
  • Snow removal
  • Perform all other duties as assigned or needed

  • Perform heavy manual labor
  • Operate various types of tools and equipment safely and efficiently
  • Ability to climb ladders, operate and use “genie lift” to full capacity
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, other agencies and the public
  • Follow written and verbal instructions
  • Communicate effectively verbally and in writing

Education and Experience
  • Any combination of education, training and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position
  • Must possess a valid state driver’s license
  • Completion of a craft apprenticeship is preferred
  • 2+ years of on-the-job maintenance or other relative experience
  • Must be highly motivated and able to work independently

Physical Demands
Must be able to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds consistently with heavier weight necessary at times.
