What is Fine Arts Ministry?

Fine Arts is designed to help students in grades 6–12 grow and utilize their God-given talents in ministry. It exists to inspire creativity, enable growth, reveal purpose and develop community.  This is also a great way to meet others who are gifted and interested in the same things.

Are you ready to dive in?

Starting in January 2022, Junior High and High school students will begin meeting with coaches to prepare a submission for the District Fine Arts Festival on April 23, 2022. This is a great opportunity for students to share their craft with Assemblies of God students from all over Illinois and get feedback from professional creatives. Students who rank "Superior" in their category get invited to the National Fine Arts Festival. This year, Nationals will be held in Orlando, FL at the Orange County Convention Center in August 2022.
Fine Arts Divisions:
  • Vocal
  • Instrumental
  • Drama
  • Dance
  • Art
  • Communication (includes Preaching)
  • Writing
Although the Fine Art Festival is a big part of the ministry, our #1 goal is to raise up servant leaders who desire is to serve the local church with their creative gifts.

Important Note: These are not voice lessons, dance lessons, instrumental lessons, etc. Students must come with a solid background in their creative art form. If students wants to learn or further develop a talent, we encourage them to take lessons at a local music store. They can also get involved in their school's choir, band, art and dance programs.

"Fine Arts helped me overcome my nerves. Performing can be intimidating, but at Fine Arts, I had the opportunity to face my fears and have fun."

- Elijah Hill

"I love fine arts because it helped me find a mentor so I could grow in my talent and faith. It’s also AMAZING to hear and see everyone else’s talents and how they express themselves and their relationship with God through art!"

– Chanalé Berdin

fall semester

During the Fall Semester, we take a break from the Fine Arts Festival and begin preparing for Christmas! Every year the Fine Arts students (choir, dance team and sometimes drama team) are involved in the Family Christmas service that usually takes place the weekend before Christmas.
