This fall, we partnered with missionaries and ministries to support eight specific projects ranging from across the globe to right here at home!

What is Missions Weekend?

Every year, we take a weekend to emphasize our commitment to missions. This year, Oct. 25/24 was that weekend! We went on an exciting journey through Calvary's mission to making a difference around the world and in our own backyard. We heard from missionaries and ministry leaders who are taking YOUR gift and using it to impact local and international communities.

October 24/25
Saturday at 6 p.m. with Pastor Caleb Wehrli
Sunday at 9 & 11 a.m. with Pastor Kregg Hood

Watch these services on our sermons page or on YouTube!

What is Missions?

We like to say that missions is the heartbeat of Calvary. Since 1967, we have been partnering with local and global missionaries and ministries to take God's hope around the world.
Missions at Calvary Church falls into three categories:
  • We make a difference in our local community
  • We make a difference globally
  • We make a difference through Christian education
Beyond our local community, we partner with ministries and missionaries around the world. Each month, we support almost 200 missionaries who depend on our giving to continue impacting their area of the world.

Košice, Slovakia

We have been connected to Apoštolská Cirkev (Apostolic Church) in Košice for over 25 years. In that time, we’ve sent 12 missions teams and have assisted with several pastors’ conferences in Slovakia and the surrounding area. This year, we are partnering with Pastor Miro Toth to help renovate a part of the church building to become a kindergarten. This kindergarten will reach out to and serve the many young families in this community.

Plopi, Romania

Plopi is one of the poorest areas in all of Romania. Our goal is to secure land and dig a well that will provide water for over 100 families. Over the past several years, we have sent numerous missions teams to Romania to build and renovate churches. In fact, it was just a few years ago that Pastor Gigel shared his story with us about growing a church in post-communism Romania.

Butare, Rwanda

Over the years, we’ve sent multiple teams to Butare to help with construction projects, eyeglass clinics, ministry conferences and cataract surgeries. We’ve also purchased property, agricultural supplies and health insurance for “The Mamas,” a women’s group severely impacted by the 1994 Rwandan genocide. This fall, we want to send funds to the newly renamed Calvary Church Butare and provide humanitarian aid to an area affected by COVID-19 restrictions.

Yogyakarta, Indonesia

After serving many years on our pastoral staff, Pastor Jamie and Tasha Kemp felt a call to Indonesia where they now lead a powerful student ministry and a thriving international church in the city of Yogyakarta. We want to sponsor the planting of a new Indonesian church that will reach the local Muslim community by creating small groups in a coffee shop environment.

U.S. Church Planting & Revitalization

Did you know that almost 90% of all new church plants fail? That’s an alarming statistic. We would like to financially support several young churches that are in great need—especially during the pandemic. This also includes opportunities for our missions teams to help local churches through construction and outreach.

Amazon Outreach, Peru

David and LaRae Pepper lead Amazon Outreach, a ministry reaching the indigenous people of Northwestern Peru. The foundation provides water wells, medical and dental services, educational support and community construction projects throughout the region. Our goal is to purchase 2,500 Spanish Bibles and sponsor an upcoming ministry training conference.

Colorado City, arizona

The Short Creek Dream Center was established for young women dealing with life-controlling issues. Residents have free access to counseling, medical and behavioral health care, as well as educational and life-skills classes. The property was formerly the housing compound of polygamist Warren Jeffs but has now been transformed into a new place of healing, community and education.

Orphan Care & Pregnancy Crisis

Here at home, we continue to support local orphan care and pregnancy crisis ministries. We’re donating grocery and clothing gift cards to struggling families in our area, as well as backpacks and suitcases for foster children. We’re also partnering with local pregnancy centers who offer counseling, medical exams and resources to women facing unexpected pregnancies.

You can make an impact in these areas of the world by covering or sharing the costs of their projects. Your partnership with them strengthens communities and empowers future generations.
