Sermon Series


Deep down, you know that God created you for more. Don't miss our May/June sermon series as we explore the transformation that happens when we live on purpose. Each weekend one of our pastors will take us on a journey of discovering the life we were created for!

Anniversary Festival

Sunday, June 30 • 3–10 p.m. • Calvary Church Grounds

Invite friends, family and neighbors to Calvary’s annual anniversary festival! This outdoor event for all ages is free and open to the public. It will feature special music on our concert stage, inflatables and games for kids, sporting activities for adults, food (for purchase) from local food trucks, a car show, an arts & crafts show and our trademark fireworks show to end the night!

What will you find at Festival?

  • Food Trucks: Food will be available for purchase. We'll have an abundance of food trucks, a grill station with hot dogs and hamburgers, and indoor options with seating in our Fellowship Hall.
  • Activities: We have something for all ages! Check out our inflatables for kids, our early childhood tent for the little ones and activities for adults (like bags, volleyball and more!).
  • Live Music: Music will be in the air all day at our concert stage. We'll feature a mix of musical guests and our own musical groups for an evening of worship and fun!
  • Art, Crafts & Treats: It's time to shop! These vendors are here to show and/or sell their hand-crafted items. Take a stroll, and enjoy these one-of-a-kind goods.
  • Car Show: Our car show tradition continues! Enjoy this trip back in time as you stroll around the sights.
  • Fireworks: This is the grand finale of our evening as we close out the concert and enjoy a fireworks show with our church family!

Anniversary Weekend Services

Our anniversary weekend is a fun and memorable time to spend with your church family. The festivities kick off with weekend services as we celebrate 52 years of God’s blessings on Calvary Church.

Saturday, June 29 in the Fellowship Hall
Sunday, June 30 in the Sanctuary

The fun will begin with family services as we celebrate new life with water baptism and worship with special musical guests Sharon Irving and Jordan Jones. Then we'll hear a message from special guest Reverend Doug Clay. Doug is the chief executive officer of the General Council of the Assemblies of God. He is passionate about the local church and loves equipping leaders to grow in their calling. Join us for service, and be blessed by his message! Youth in grades 6+ will join adults in services.


Food Vendors

We are now accepting applications for food vendors at our Anniversary Festival. Applications will be accepted in the order of receipt. A map with your assigned location will be given when you arrive the day of the event. Registration ends June 17, 2019.

Family Fun Events

Bowlero Family Night
Tuesday, July 23 • 5:30–8 p.m. • $12/person
Join us for a fun night of bowling, laser tag and arcade Games at Bowlero in Naperville. Bring your family and don’t miss out on this night of fun and fellowship. Tickets are $12/person and can be purchased at the button below or in the lobby starting July 7.

Summer Theme Nights: Wednesdays at 7 p.m.
June 5 – July 19 • Age 4 – Grade 5
Every Wednesday is an exciting new experience! From character night to science night, we have something fun and crazy planned for your kids every week this summer!

July 15–19

Amplify — Designed for students entering 6–8th grade, Amplify is a 4-week discipleship experience where students will get the chance to discover God’s word for themselves and learn how to live out a life of faith. Students will get the opportunity to dive into God’s word with their crew, engage in powerful moments of worship and hear from guest speakers. 

June 12–July 3

Rush — Rush is a 1-day, grade-specific camp to help students grow in God and make new friends! Rush will consist of biblical teachings, small group activities, personal devotions, exciting worship, off-campus activities and so much more!

Delta Chi — Delta Chi is a 3-day discipleship camp to help students to grow in God and make new friends! It is open to students entering 6–8 grade. Delta Chi will consist of biblical teachings, team competitions, small group activities, personal devotions, exciting worship, off-campus activities, service projects and more!  

July 8–10

Orlando Missions Trip — This year we have the privilege to be able to partner with the Assemblies of God and Global Passions to minister to the City of Orlando and be a part of the National Youth Convention. Over 10,000 youth will be there from all over the U.S. We will be helping serve the city by participating in service projects, run kids camps, and blessing the city. This trip is open to students entering 7–10 grade. If you are interested in participating, please fill out the registration form and return to an NXT YTH Staff Member. All applications and $250 deposit are due no later than Sunday, May 26.

NXT High School

IDT — Are you hearing the call to be a disciple? IDT (Intense Discipleship Training) is a five-week program designed to provide connection and community. Being a part of IDT allows students to engage their hearts and minds, use their hands to serve, and helps to create disciples! Every IDT student is encouraged to pray and choose a track to study one book of the Bible for five weeks. Each track encourages the learning of basic Christian truths while providing hands-on experiences to make those truths meaningful. Tracks meet during every IDT session, and every track has its own RD (Resident Discipleship) Overnight.

June 12 – July 11

RD Overnight — RD Overnight (Residential Discipleship) is an optional 2-day event that students can join as part of their Intense Discipleship Training experience. (If you have not yet registered for IDT, please do so by visiting RD Overnights run from Wednesday night to Thursday night.

Miracles Everywhere

Miracles are happening everywhere—every day. Your miracle is right around the corner. Join us during the month of August as we talk about the Miracles of Jesus and pray for miracles to be released in our own lives.

Financial Peace University

Tough Topics: Wayward Children

Living a New Testament Adventure

This class will continue the journey with Jesus as recorded in the
Gospel of Luke. While this class is a continuation, each week presents an opportunity to look at the Bible in depth, receive encouragement and to come to know Jesus deeply. 

FrontRunners (40+)

This class is a ministry to men and women (married and single) who are age 40+. Our primary goal is to provide study topics and fellowship that relate to and address various interests for this life stage. Join us this fall as we continue to dive into the word and grow together.

God's Watchman: The Story of Ezekiel

Israel has rebelled against God, but God doesn’t leave them without hope. The Babylonian invaders have taken captives, and one of them is a priest named Ezekiel. God sets Ezekiel as his watchman over Israel to warn them about their sin and to promise a bright future and a new covenant if they repent.

Our summer soccer clinics are taught by local professional coaches and players. Your child will be taught skills and drills and have the opportunity to enhance their soccer IQ. Our clinics are hosted at Calvary in our soccer fields.

Adult Open Gym Basketball

Outreach Opportunities

Calvary's outreach to the community never stops, and with school out, you can have the whole family join in on the fun! Check out the many opportunities we are offering this summer!

Feed My Starving Children (learn more here)
Join us as we pack food for hungry families all over the world. We meet from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Feed My Starving Children in Aurora (555 Exchange Court).

Hesed House (learn more here)
Hesed House is a homeless shelter in Aurora (659 South River St.), and we can make a difference to those who call Hesed House home for the night. We’ll join at 5 p.m. to serve a warm meal and encourage guests with uplifting words, smiles and prayers. This is an incredible evening to serve and minister to those in need.

Chicago City Life Center (learn more here)
Join us as we partner with Pastor Charles Moodie and Chicago City Life Center to bless the people of the Englewood community. We will meet at Calvary at 4:30 p.m. and then travel together to Chicago to serve a hot dinner and then fellowship and pray with the congregation.

Mobile Food Pantry (learn more here)
We have partnered with Northern Illinois Food Bank to provide food for those in need, and we’re taking it to different areas of Aurora. Volunteers will help clients pack food, take it to their car, and pray for them if they want it! Bring the whole family out and serve with us during this awesome opportunity. (Times will vary per event.)
