Water Baptism
What is water baptism?
Water Baptism is an outward expression of an inward commitment to Jesus. It is a public declaration of your faith, and an important foundation for Christian life.
Water baptism is not only an act of obedience—Jesus calls us to be baptized—but it's a symbol to you and to the world that your old life was buried with Jesus and your new life has been raised up with Him.
No wonder you'll hear cheers and celebrating when you come out of the water!

Baptism FAQ
WHY SHOULD I BE BAPTIZED?
We get baptized because Jesus commands us to do so! He set the example by being baptized Himself (Matthew 28: 19-20, Mark 1:9). Obedience to Jesus shows we believe and follow Him. Because He went public about His love for us, we can go public about our love for Him. Being baptized shows that we turn away from a life of sin toward Jesus, the only one who can change us (Acts 2:38-41).
"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” – Matthew 28: 19-20 (NIV)
WHEN IS THE BEST TIME TO BE BAPTIZED?
For everyone who decides to follow Jesus, baptism is the next step. Anyone who commits his or her life to following Jesus is ready to be baptized (Acts 8:12).
I WAS BAPTIZED AS A BABY, SHOULD I BE BAPTIZED AS AN ADULT?
If you were baptized or sprinkled as an infant, but you’ve never been baptized by immersion, we invite you to take that next step! Jesus was baptized by being immersed in the water and rising out of it (Matthew 3:16, Mark 1:10). Being submerged in water represents our death to sin and old way of life, and being raised out of the water is a picture of how Jesus gave us a fresh start in life (Romans 6: 3-5)!
DO I NEED TO BE BAPTIZED AGAIN?
If you have been baptized by immersion after deciding to follow Jesus, there is no need to be baptized again. However, if you’ve never been baptized as an adult after personally choosing to follow Jesus Christ, we invite you to take your next step of being baptized.
DO YOU BAPTIZE CHILDREN?
As parents, we can help point our children to Jesus, but they are the ones to decide if they will commit their lives to Him. We want children to express their own decision to follow Jesus and to truly understand the meaning of baptism.
If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. – Romans 10:9 (NIV)
