Liturgical
Service

Same gospel. Different expression.

We’re introducing a new Sunday service at Calvary — at 8 a.m. weekly.

Our liturgical service is a sacred time of worship centered on the Word of God, reflection, prayer, and communion — creating space to slow down, listen, and encounter God through a steady, intentional rhythm.

Simply put, this is a different expression of the same faith!

Rooted in the Holy Spirit

We believe that the Holy Spirit moves in many ways — both in powerful moments and in quiet, attentive ones.

Launching this service on Pentecost Sunday is intentional. It’s a reminder that the same Spirit who has been at work since the early Church is still moving today in many different expressions.

What to Expect

Our liturgical service is a one-hour Sunday gathering with a reflective flow and tone.

You can expect:
  • A strong focus on Scripture
  • Guided prayers and moments of reflection
  • Intentional space for silence
  • Weekly communion
  • A shorter, focused message
  • A calm, structured rhythm from beginning to end

Who This is For

This service may be a great fit if you’re looking for:
  • A quieter, more reflective environment
  • A slower pace and consistent rhythm
  • A deeper focus on Scripture and prayer

This won’t be everyone’s preferred style, and that’s okay. It’s one expression within our church—alongside our other Sunday services.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does "liturgical" mean?
“Liturgical” simply refers to a structured pattern of worship that includes Scripture, prayer, and repeated rhythms. It’s a way of shaping a service so that it’s intentional, participatory, and rooted in the practices Christians have used for generations.
Is this replacing our other services?
No. This is an additional service — another way to gather on Sundays.
Is this a Catholic service?
No. We are a Protestant, Pentecostal church. This service draws from historic Christian practices and remains fully rooted in our beliefs and identity.
Will it feel Pentecostal?
Yes — just expressed differently. We believe the Holy Spirit moves in many ways, including quiet, reflective moments. This service creates space for that kind of encounter.
Will there be worship music?
Yes. It will be simpler and more reflective in style (acoustic, hymns, or minimal instrumentation).
Is there childcare?
No. This service is designed for those who are able to engage in a quieter, more focused environment.
Do I have to participate out loud?
Not necessarily. You’re free to engage at your comfort level.
