Middle School Spanish Teacher (Full time)

The Spanish Teacher will teach students in grades 6-8 (who chose Spanish as their foreign language) and lead them in understanding the language in both written and oral form. The teacher will also shape the attitudes, skills, and outlook that will contribute to their development as mature, able and responsible Christians.

Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Ensure that the students get in-depth understanding of the language and have respect and appreciation for the Spanish culture and literature.
  • Reflect the purpose of the school which is to honor Christ in every class and in every activity.
  • Lead students to a realization of their self-worth in Christ.
  • Cooperate with Principal and Executive Team in implementing all policies, procedures, and directives governing the operation of the school.
  • Teach classes as assigned, following the prescribed scope and sequence as scheduled by the Principal.
  • Integrate Biblical principles and the Christian philosophy of education throughout the curriculum and activities.
  • Keep proper discipline in the classroom and on the school premises for a good learning environment.
  • Maintain a clean, attractive, well-ordered classroom.
  • Plan a program of study that, as much as possible, meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students, challenging each to do his/her best work.
  • Employ a variety of instructional aids, methods, and materials that will provide for creative teaching to reach the whole child: spiritual, mental, physical, social and emotional.
  • Use homework effectively for drill, review, enrichment for project work.
  • Assess the learning of students on a regular basis and provide progress reports as required.
  • Maintain regular and accurate attendance and grade records to meet the demands for a comprehensive knowledge of each student’s progress.
  • Keep students, parents and administration adequately informed of progress or deficiencies and give sufficient notice of failure.
  • Follow the Matthew 18 principle in dealing with students, parents, and administration.
  • Attend and participate in scheduled devotional, in-service, retreats, committee, faculty, and parent meetings.
  • Know the procedures for dealing with issues of an emergency nature.
  • Inform the Principal/Executive Team in a timely manner if unable to fulfill any duty assigned.

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited institution
  • Relevant teaching experience
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish
