Welcome to Calvary Champions:

A ministry for kids ages 4-12 with special needs!

Our Mission

We believe that every child deserves to know God and His plan for their life. We also want to make sure that all children who attend our church can experience Jesus. Because of this, we've created Calvary Champions—a ministry to kids age 4–12 with special needs.

This ministry exists to love, empower, and teach the word of God in a specialized environment, fostering growth and spiritual connection for children with special needs.

Want Your Child to Attend?

We could not be more thrilled to see so many wanting to join this ministry!

Prior to joining us, we ask that each parent/guardian submit an intake form so we know how best to serve your child. As of right now, we are almost completely full for participants! While Champions only runs during the 11 a.m. service, we are already looking to expand our ministry to include serving the 9 a.m. service as well.

What to Expect

At Calvary Champions, kids get to attend service in their very own dedicated environment known as the “Champspace.” The Champspace will consist of four different sections throughout the service:
Gym
Sensory
Spiritual
Bible Curriculum

Kids will also be paired one-on-one with our trained leaders and volunteers, ensuring that they have the best experience possible. Trained leaders in each room will ensure that everything runs smoothly.
Calvary Church has officially hosted its first Night to Shine event!

We had an amazing time serving some incredible people in our community. Pictures, food, dancing... well, just have a look for yourself!

How can you help with Champions?

Pray with us!

  1. Inclusion (Luke 14:12-14)
Pray that God will guide and permeate every aspect of the ministry so that all individuals (regardless of their abilities or disabilities) feel welcomed, valued and embraced.

  1. Empowerment (John 9:2-4)
Pray that the ministry would be a source of empowerment for individuals with special needs, equipping them with the tools, support and opportunities they need to thrive and reach their full potential.

  1. Compassion (Colossians 3:12)
Pray for an outpouring of compassion among the members, leaders and volunteers of the ministry so that they may approach everyone with understanding, empathy and love.

Landon Sloan

Special Needs Director

Calvary has been my home church ever since my family moved to Illinois in 2020. I love all things related to sports and being outdoors. I have a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Southeastern University, and I am currently working on my master’s degree in mental health and wellness from Grand Canyon University. I have a huge heart for those with special needs, and I am excited to see how God is going to use Calvary to make an impact in the special needs community!
