Imago Dei

We are made in the image of God to fulfill the mission of God.

Each one of us was created in the image of God (Imago Dei). Our unique qualities and experiences are what help point people toward God.
Below are stories—victory stories—of God overcoming our challenges and using our lives for his mission (Missio Dei).

June is Father's Day and Juneteenth!

June holds deep significance with the celebration of both Father’s Day and Juneteenth, two observances that can powerfully resonate with Christians who uphold the Imago Dei—the belief that every person is made in the image of God. Father’s Day is a time to honor the vital role of fathers and father figures, reflecting the nurturing, protective, and guiding character of God the Father.

Juneteenth, commemorating the end of slavery in the United States, serves as a profound reminder of the inherent dignity and worth of every human being. For Christians, celebrating Juneteenth affirms the truth that all people, regardless of race, bear God’s image and are worthy of justice, freedom, and respect.

Together, these days encourage believers to reflect God’s love by honoring both family and the call to equity and reconciliation.
