The Next Steps Coordinator provides leadership and direction for the pathways that help people grow in their faith and become meaningfully connected at Calvary, including Growth Track, water baptism, guest experience, and volunteer engagement. This role develops and empowers
volunteer teams, strengthens ministry workflows, and ensures scheduling and communication platforms effectively support both participants and leaders. Through relational leadership, thoughtful organization, and consistent follow-through, the coordinator plays a vital role in creating a seamless and engaging Next Steps experience.


Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities
Engagement and Leadership
  • Provide Sunday leadership and support for Next Steps serve teams.
  •  Oversee the organization and support of the Wednesday volunteer teams.
  •  Assist with onboarding and training Next Steps volunteers to ensure alignment with the ministry’s goals, as trained.
  •  Oversee scheduling volunteers in Planning Center for Wednesdays, Sundays, and other services/service dates for all volunteer teams, as trained.
  •  Assist with workflow staff trainings (as needed) to empower team members and volunteers in using the platform effectively.
  •  Manage timely communication via Clearstream, the text platform, to engage attendees and volunteers.
  •  Manage timely general congregant correspondence and follow-up via email, phone call, or other.

Workflow Management
  •  Oversee the Growth Track Workflow, ensuring all aspects are organized and effective.• Oversee the Following Jesus/Water Baptism Workflow; including, but not limited to, registration, reviewing testimonies, making phone calls, scheduling, inventory ordering, set up/teardown and service execution.
  • Oversee Connect to Serve Workflow, ensuring follow-up and follow-through of all congregants interested in serving.
  • Oversee First-time Guests Workflow, ensuring we are connecting in a timely manner and engaging them in taking their next step.
  • Support with other Next Steps Workflows as assigned.

Ministry Resources and Special Projects
  • Coordinate the production and printing of ministry materials, including cards, banners, class resources, and other communication pieces.
  • Provide leadership and support for additional ministry projects and initiatives as assigned.

Education and Experience
  •  High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor's degree preferred.
  • One to two years of related administrative or office experience preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint) with the ability to learn and manage church management systems, databases, and communication software.
