Missions starts with Missio Dei.
At Calvary Church, we are dedicated to the Missio Dei! Jesus came to earth on a mission to bring all of creation into right relationship with God. We call this MISSIO DEI—God’s mission to redeem mankind. And God has invited us to be part of this mission. He has equipped us to serve His mission here on earth.
What is missions?
Missions is the process of partnering with missionaries and ministries to spread the good news of Jesus Christ! As a church, we make a difference by sending missions teams across the globe to impact an area of need. We make a difference by generously supporting the missionaries and ministries who have devoted their lives to sharing God’s love with people groups around the world. Through missions, we can send strength for today and hope for tomorrow. Missions are not just something we do, it's who we are!

What difference can your generosity make?
We are blessed to be able to support ministries and missionaries all over the world! We are challenging whoever feels called to give just one day's worth of wages, and see the impact that it makes! Start praying today about how your work can become a building block of God’s kingdom, and imagine the extraordinary impact our church can make with just one ordinary day of our lives.
You can give to this fund today, or any day, before the end of the year.

Missionaries
We support missionaries as they share the gospel message with people all over the world. This keeps missionaries on the field and able to continue impacting their area of the world.
Mission Trip Projects
When our missions teams travel around the world, they take “project funds” with them. This pays for construction materials, outreach supplies, medicine, and other tangible ways we bless the ministries we visit.
Training Pastors
We lead conferences all over the world to help churches grow with theological training and tools for church leadership. This is also a huge boost to morale for pastors with limited resources and experience.
Humanitarian & Compassion Ministries
From local pregnancy centers to Convoy of Hope to churches around the world, we support many organizations (local and abroad) who are doing God’s work!
Church Planting
We believe in the local church, and we come alongside others who are planting churches. Our seed money helps to fund vision and impact the world (both local and international) for Jesus!
The Missio Dei (mission of God) is our mission too.
Missions is one way that we as a church can make a difference. Jesus told us to “go and make disciples ... to the ends of the earth.”We can all do something to help spread the message of God’s love around the world, whether by going on short-term missions trips or giving generously to help those who are already working in key areas. If Calvary is your home church, we ask you to prayerfully consider giving to missions. This money will go directly to the more than 100 ministries that we support and will help them to continue making an impact.

Imagine the difference one day can make! This November, you don’t have to imagine—you can experience it! During Missions Weekend, we are coming together as one church to take the work of one day of our lives (one day’s wage) and give it to God—specifically give it to missions.
Mission Weekend
Saturday, November 2 at 5 p.m.
Sunday, November 3 at 9 or 11 a.m.
We’re going to see how just one day’s wage can advance the Missio Dei! (If everyone gave a day’s wage, we could raise a million dollars in one weekend!) Start praying today about how your work can become a building block of God’s kingdom, and imagine the extraordinary impact our church can make with just one ordinary day of our lives.

Peoria, Illinois | Oct. 6-11, 2025
Calvary Church will once again partner with Adult & Teen Challenge of the Greater Midwest—a faith-based residential recovery ministry offering long-term Christian discipleship and life-skills training to those breaking free from addiction. We’ll assist in renovating the historic Guardian Angels Orphanage in West Peoria, transforming it into a residential men’s center and paving the way for current housing to be used for women and children. Our work will range from demolition, landscaping, and cleaning to sorting and stocking donations for the organization’s thrift store.
This week is not just about renovation—it’s about restoring hope, building community, and walking alongside those on the journey toward lasting transformation.

Stories of Hope

Helping Ukrainian Refugees
We strongly believe that together we can have a greater impact for God’s glory than we would have alone.
We now have 30 refugees that we have been accommodating since the war in Ukraine started. We are trying to meet all their material needs, but also their spiritual and emotional needs. Please pray that our Lord will comfort them with His peace that is beyond all understanding.
On top of the 30 refugees that are staying with us until they can go home, we have another project where we accommodate the refugees that are in transit towards Western Europe. So far, more than 140 people have spent two or three nights with us. Thank you for your help and your desire to partner with us.

Harvest in Rwanda
There’s a reason why Calvary Church Mission of Butare has “Calvary” in its name. That’s because the growing church (based in Butare, Rwanda) has been partnering with Calvary Church of Naperville since 2016.
Our support has helped them to develop a portion of their property into land for farming. An area of land once known for drug dealing and crime has been transformed into a place of harvest and sustenance. Crops of sorghum, beans, corn and sweet potatoes have been both a source of income for the congregation and food for the community.

New Territory in New Zealand
Meet Nathan and Lisa Turney—the first Assemblies of God missionaries to ever be assigned to New Zealand. Nathan and Lisa have a vision to establish a new community of vibrant followers of Christ that impacts New Zealand and the surrounding nations.
New Zealand is one of the most secularized nations in Asia Pacific with 50% of its five million residents rejecting any religious affiliations and the other 50% contributing to a rise in Islam and Hinduism. The country also has one of the highest teen suicide rates of any developed nation. Nathan and Lisa believe that God is leading them to plant an international church in Auckland, which is the largest city in Polynesia with over 1.5 million ethnically diverse residents.

Investing in schools is one of the many ways we’ve partnered with communities throughout Romania. We have sent missions teams to build and renovate churches and ministered to gypsy communities. Over the past 20 years, we have supported churches and schools, helped dig water wells for the residents of poverty-stricken Plopi, and in just the last few years, we came together to support the creation of a water well house and delivery systems to reach even more in that community.
