30 days toward a more Christ-centered life.
Most people don’t plan to waste their lives. It just happens—one unintentional day at a time. But the opposite is also true: a meaningful life is built on small, daily decisions. Your life matters more than you think, and how you live it is shaping more than just today.
This 30-day challenge won’t make you a perfect disciple overnight, but it can change the direction of your life—if you’re willing to fully engage.
Start here. Take the next step. Let’s make these 30 days count.

How to use this guide:
1. Read the scripture for the day.
2. Speak the scripture out loud.
3. Pray and meditate over the meaning.
To get the most out of this guide, read each day's prompt first thing in the morning, again at mid-day, as well as at the end of the day. Adding a one sentence prayer related to the reflection is also helpful such as “Father, fill me with courage to live righteously today.” The idea isn’t to be lengthy, but to be frequent and consistent.
Scriptures may be repeated throughout the week or month to support memorization, which is the greatest aid to meditation on God’s Word!

Day 1 | Philippians 1:20-26
A Jesus-centered life is courageous, purposeful, fruitful, and eternally impactful. How can you begin to live with the end in mind? We begin by actually having eternity in mind. Take time today to think about the reality that you will live forever somewhere even after you leave this life.
Day 2 | Matthew 5:16
A Jesus-centered life looks a lot like Jesus! It is living in such a way that people see God in and through our lives. Today, be conscious of what people see when they observe your words and actions. . It’s less talking about Jesus and more speaking like Jesus. Speaking to others in a way that they can tell we have spent time with him.
Day 3 | Colossians 1:18
A Jesus-centered life puts Christ first above all priorities. On waking, make your first thoughts of the day about Christ and pray that his Spirit will guide you to keep him first in everything you do this day.
. (Don’t worry if you read this later in the day—start now! And start tomorrow with Christ at the beginning of everything before your feet hit the floor.)
. (Don’t worry if you read this later in the day—start now! And start tomorrow with Christ at the beginning of everything before your feet hit the floor.)
Day 4 | I Corinthians 10:31
A Jesus-centered life holds glorifying Christ at the center of how we do everything. This includes the everyday things like our conversations, texts and social posts, meals, work, workouts—everything! How? By being aware each moment that he is present, and by being aware that, if he is with us, both what we do and how we do it matter.
Day 5 | Joshua 1:9, Acts 28:31
A Jesus-centered life is courageous. Firstly, because it takes boldness to stand against our own ungodly desires. The hardest person to say “no” to is yourself! Secondly, because we like to be well regarded, it takes courage to live for a resurrected savior in a world that completely denies God, mostly by ignoring him. To live courageous is to care more about what Jesus says than what we want or what others think.
Day 6 | Philippians 1:20
Consider the physicality of this verse. Bodies matter. What we do in the body matters, and we will be embodied even in the life to come after death just as Jesus was. How will you honor Christ in the care of your physical body today as though it was a temple for his Spirit to live in and with you?
Day 7 | Rest.
Today is a day to stop doing. Simply be with God today, and enjoy the life, peace, and beauty his word and Spirit offer. Return to the Scripture from the past week that most stirred your heart. Thank God for giving you that word to align your life with truth and to bring meaning and freedom.
Day 8 | Colossians 3:1-4
This week, the goal is to set our minds and hearts on Christ’s new beginnings! The Christian life is also called the “new birth,” or the “born again” life. In this new day of a new week, allow the new life of the resurrected Christ be your focus and strength. As a renewed person, you have a new focus and new purpose even in old, ordinary and everyday things.
Day 9 | Philippians 1:21
What did “to live is Christ” mean to Paul? Think of how his life was wholly committed to Jesus and lived not for his own goals but for God’s glory. How will you live the Christ life today? Living Christ is living in his presence, by his power, and for his glory – not just in some things, but in everything.
Day 10 | Galatians 2:20
Jesus lived a resurrected life. Resurrection is life after death. This is the same new life we live after baptism. We are now dead to our old ways because our sinful, self-guided way of being died with Christ on the cross. But it’s an every-single-day cross. Every day is a fresh battle for life: Will I live in me or will I allow Christ to live in me? Choose today to live a crucified and resurrected life in your actions, reactions, integrity and love.
Day 11 | Matthew 6:33
The Kingdom of God was Jesus’ most frequent topic. It is quite literally the realm or domain in which God is present and reigning. Yes, that is Heaven, but it is also Heaven on earth whenever and wherever we acknowledge his presence and submit to his authority by living according to his word and ways. Today, consider how you will seek his kingdom first before anything else you pursue.
Day 12 | Colossians 3:23
Everyday things make up our lives, but are they supporting a life lived to please ourselves? To please others? To please Christ? Today, in the “everyday” things (work, rest, eating, learning, conversing, posting), let it be done well. Do it intentionally as though you were a child playing and performing for a loving parent. Give it your all as though it was for him.
Day 13 | Psalm 37:4
This day sets up the next “rest” day. Delight is a gift. Delight has a source, stimulus, or cause. What are you delighting in today? What makes it delightful? If delight isn’t something that has characterized your days recently, let today be the day you return and reclaim delight. Instead of enjoyment of perishable things, appreciate the things that are eternal. Delight in Christ’s presence and see him change what you desire.
Day 14 | Rest.
Today is a day to stop doing. Simply be with God today, and enjoy the life, peace, and beauty his word and Spirit offer. Return to the Scripture from the past week that most stirred your heart. Thank God for giving you that word to align your life with truth and to bring meaning and freedom.
Day 15 | John 15:5
The Jesus-centered life is impossible to live on our own. Like grapes on a vine that only grow because of the nutrients provided through the root and branch, we must remain connected to Christ to have any spiritual life flowing to and through our lives. A Jesus-centered life is fruitful because it is connected. Today, remain frequently conscious of the presence of Jesus and your total dependence on him as the source of true life.
Day 16 | John 13:1-17
It’s hard to imagine Jesus cleaning our feet. To see the Creator God of heaven and earth as a man now serving humans in such an undignified task is mind-blowing. If this is what God did in Christ, then a Jesus-centered life is also living to serve others. Today, there are many ways to serve someone in the same humble and loving spirit. What opportunities will you take to serve someone else?
Day 17 | Ephesians 2:10
We are created to work. There is something that will only be done if you do it. A Jesus-centered life is a life lived with purpose. We aren’t created to work at anything and everything—we are created for good works! What good works will you do today? Not works to earn anything from God, but works because you’ve been given life, purpose, and ability from God to bless others. Consider today that you are the good result of God’s intentional, creative, and quality craftsmanship.
Day 18 | Mark 8:36
This earthly life will end, and our works will be evaluated. A Jesus-centered life prioritizes the things that last forever, the things that were invested in God’s kingdom (eternal) and not just things that perish (earthly). Consider where you invest your time, energy, resources, and words today. Are they investments into eternity or are you living for temporary gains? Today is a day of repentance, turning from anything we’ve valued in this life that will cost us eternal life.
Day 19 | Mark 10:45
A Jesus-centered life lives for eternal values and the benefit of others. It is natural to want to be served (or have things in life go your way). If we are honest, we would rather God serve us than us serve God. Today, consider your “why.” Frustration comes when we don’t get what we desire. When our desire is to serve Christ through serving others, then even conflict, suffering, loss, and pressure cannot steal our joy.
Day 20 | John 9:4
As we are the intentional work of God, we have an intentional and purposeful work to do. A Jesus-centered life is conscious of and working for God’s purpose. But there is a clock ticking. Our days are not unlimited. Each day is of eternal importance. Live today with eternity in mind—not only yours, but someone else’s also.
Day 21 | Rest.
Today is a day to stop doing. Simply be with God today, and enjoy the life, peace, and beauty his word and Spirit offer. Return to the Scripture from the past week that most stirred your heart. Thank God for giving you that word to align your life with truth and to bring meaning and freedom.
Day 22 | I Thessalonians 5:11
Keep up the good work! You’ve already passed the 21 days it takes to start a new habit. Today, encourage someone else in their journey with Christ! Life can be hard and there are plenty of things that can tear us down. A kind word, an encouraging call can make a huge difference in someone’s ability to handle what they are facing. Who are you building up today?
Day 23 | Philippians 2:3-8
A Jesus-centered life is aware that our life is not something we produced by ourselves and is therefore not only for ourselves. Simply put: We are here for other people. This entire month of reflection reminds us that our greatest benefit would be to be in Heaven with Christ. Our life here is a life lived purposefully to see others come to salvation and experience new life just as we have. Live today with someone else’s eternity in mind.
Day 24 | Ephesians 4:29
Words matter. They can lead to death or life. Jesus-centered living is intentional about conversations. While a snarky reply or instigating comment (or post) may feel good in a moment, it is only fueling the sin nature. Let your every word today be a benefit, a building block, not for your own life, but for someone else.
Day 25 | Psalm 19:14
The heart matters. Scripture teaches that our words come from the thoughts our hearts meditate (ruminate) upon. A Jesus-centered heart meditates on Christ and his word. Goodness in, goodness out. Consider throughout the day what you are meditating on. Is it Christ-focused or self-focused? To speak words of life, refocus your thoughts.
Day 26 | Hebrews 10:24-25
A Jesus-centered life encourages others. It sounds simple, but the only way to live a life of benefit to others is to be around other people. We all need encouragement, other people cheering, supporting, and motivating us to start and continue the life Christ has for us. Just as we have work to do and need others to fulfill that purpose in us, we can fill up others on their Jesus-centered journeys.
Day 27 | Philippians 1:25-26
A Jesus-centered life enables someone else to experience the fullness of Christ’s life as well. This week has focused on working, serving, and speaking for the benefit of others. An eternal perspective reminds us that we do this not just to honor God with our lives but that our lives will be the very reason someone else finds eternal life. Be mindful today that your life here has eternal impact for others. Knowing this, let your life be a light pointing the way for others to see Christ.
Day 28 | Rest.
Today is a day to stop doing. Simply be with God today, and enjoy the life, peace, and beauty his word and Spirit offer. Return to the Scripture from the past week that most stirred your heart. Thank God for giving you that word to align your life with truth and to bring meaning and freedom.
Day 29 | Matthew 28:19-20
A Jesus-centered life obeys his teaching and instruction. The “commission” to go and make disciples is more than a suggestion. It is our very purpose in this life. How will you live on mission today?
Day 30 | Acts 1:8
A Jesus-centered life relies on the power of the Holy Spirit and lives out a purposeful, fruitful, intentional life as a witness to others of the presence and power of God. Today be conscious of the presence, voice, and power of the Spirit to lead your life. Pray “Search me, cleanse me, fill me, and send me.”
