After School Teacher (CCS, part time)

Our After School Teacher brings warmth, patience, and understanding to their rooms every day, encouraging children to learn and grow. They are committed to making Kids Club successful and know that creating meaningful relationships with children, families, and their team plays a crucial role in that success. The After School Teacher is responsible for providing a safe, nurturing Christian environment with engaging activities to stimulate the school-ager attention. Assist the school-ager with homework. Create age-appropriate activities following the themes of the Kids Club vision and values. Break all of the teachers for their restroom breaks, as well as lunch breaks.

Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Cooperate with the Director and Executive Team in implementing all policies, procedures, and directives governing Kids Club operations.
  • Establish and maintain a developmentally appropriate environment that supports the growth and development of our kids.
  • Plan and conduct developmentally appropriate daily activities for children.
  • Observe, record, and report significant individual and group behavior.
  • Follow Kids Club policies and procedures at all times.
  • Establish a safe and healthy nurturing environment for children.
  • Supervise children by sight and sound at all times.
  • Display teaching excellence for other staff; role model, share professional and technical information.
  • Maintain a clean, attractive, well-ordered classroom.
  • Write, submit and execute lesson plans that support Kids Club Vision and Values.
  • Assess the development of kids regularly and provide progress reports as required.
  • Maintain regular and accurate attendance records.
  • Utilize ProCare to communicate with parents and record student activities within the program.
  • Follow the Matthew 18 principle in dealing with students, parents, and administration.
  • Attend and participate in scheduled devotional, in-service, faculty, and parent meetings.
  • Know the procedures for dealing with issues of an emergency nature.
  • Inform the Director/Executive Team in a timely manner if unable to fulfill any duty assigned.

Education and Experience
Formal education is preferred but not required.
  • Relevant Teaching Experience
  • Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited institution

The number of people supervised: Lead teacher will supervise assistant teachers

The Teacher’s Aide is to assist the classroom teacher with implementing instruction in a learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential.

Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Work with students who need extra help and/or practice individually or in small groups
  • Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment
  • Grade classwork, homework, tests, and assignments
