Our full-time Summer Camp Coordinator brings warmth, patience, and understanding to their rooms daily, encouraging children to learn and grow. They are committed to making our center successful and know that creating meaningful relationships with children, families, and their team plays a crucial role in that success.
The Summer Camp Coordinator ensures that our programs provide a safe, nurturing Christian environment with engaging activities to stimulate the school-agers attention. This coordinator position is a management position that will continue providing enrichment programs to stimulate the school-agers during spring and summer breaks. Said person will create age-appropriate activities, themes, and devotions. The coordinator is responsible for creating daily schedules, handbooks, safety guidelines, planning field trips, attending field trips, and training before and after school teachers and camp counselors.

Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities
- Fulfill the mission of Calvary Christian School
- Cooperate with the Director and Executive Team in implementing all policies, procedures, and directives governing the operation throughout the Summer Camps
- Establish and maintain a developmentally appropriate environment that supports the growth and development of school-agers
- Plan and conduct developmentally appropriate daily activities for children
- Turn in written attendance sheets according to the schedule established
- Observe, record, and report significant individual and group behavior
- Be responsible for written communication to parents, notes, newsletters
- Establish a safe and healthy nurturing environment for children
- Supervise children by sight and sound at all times
- Display teaching excellence for other staff; role model; share professional and technical information
- Establish/follow snack schedules and procedures as needed
- Maintain clean, attractive, well-ordered programs
- Maintain regular and accurate attendance records
- Keep parents and administration adequately informed of progress or deficiencies
- Follow the Matthew 18 principle in dealing with students, parents, and administration
- Attend and participate in scheduled devotionals, in-service, faculty, and parent meetings
- Know the procedures for dealing with issues of an emergency nature
- Inform the Director/Executive Team in a timely manner if unable to fulfill any duty assigned
- Responsible for supervising and managing daily operations of the Summer camp program

- Ensure children are properly supervised at all times, and schedule sufficient staff to ensure student ratios are maintained
- Collaborate with the staff to bring purposeful, creative work to the afterschool program as well as camps
- Track inventory of program supplies and coordinate with Preschool Director to order any necessary supplies for programs
- Support afterschool/kids club teachers as well as Camp Counselors in effectively delivering content through feedback and coaching
- Implement appropriate activities in accordance with established program goals and quality standards at Calvary Christian School
- Work with various organizations and groups to implement assigned programs
- Assemble supplies and set up and take-down equipment, tables, and chairs as needed
- Ensures facilities, equipment, and play areas are in a clean, safe, and in excellent condition
- Supervise and coordinate a variety of recreation and social events/programs (including community field trips and other camp-related activities and projects)
- Inform parents/ guardians of important information regarding their children and upcoming events, and incidents
- Maintain accurate writing on a daily basis for the afterschool kids club program as well as the camp, including data related to registration, attendance, safety, and activity records
- Maintains discipline at the facility, enforces rules and regulations, and completes incident reports
- CPR certified
- Renders routine first aid as necessary
- Performs related duties as assigned
- When driving the Calvary bus, adhere to all traffic laws and regulations. When boarding the bus, check that every child is accounted for. When exiting the bus, check if all children have been accounted for

Education and Experience
- Associate or Bachelor degree in Childhood Education or Development
- Minimum of 2 years of experience, as documented in three written references
