Receptionist

As the first impression of our church, the receptionist uses warmth, confidence and patience to greet, welcome and direct those inquiring of Calvary Church through phone calls and face-to-face interactions. They will also supply information regarding the organization to the general public and congregants.

Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Answer telephone, screen and direct calls
  • Take and relay messages
  • Provide information to callers
  • Greet persons entering organization
  • Direct persons to correct destination
  • Address queries from the public and customers
  • Monitor visitor access and maintain security awareness
  • Provide general administrative and clerical support
  • Prepare correspondence and documents
  • Receive and sort mail and deliveries
  • Control inventory relevant to reception area
  • Tidy and maintain the reception area
  • Help other office staff with administrative duties (10-15 hours per week)

Education and Experience
  • Bilingual (highly preferred skill)
  • High school diploma generally required
  • Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures
  • Knowledge of computers and relevant software application
  • Knowledge of customer service principles and practices
  • Keyboard skills
  • Ability to work a switchboard
