Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.

— I John 3:16-18
Adopt-a-Block is our initiative to make a difference in our community by answering people’s personal and spiritual needs. When we meet a physical need, we believe that a door opens for us to meet a spiritual need. By cleaning streets, painting fences, changing lightbulbs, planting flowers, feeding the hungry, clothing the naked, and meeting various physical needs, we are given the opportunity to pray and introduce people to Christ. This is the most important need they will ever have met.

We will meet:
July 15
July 22
July 29 (block party)

We have begun outreach initiative in Aurora!! Check out this update from Pastor Michael Grove, which includes some amazing testimonies that are already coming out of Adopt a Block!

How Does It Work?

Prior to the Adopt-a-Block Service Days, a small group will canvas an area to discover needs of residents—needs that range from food and clothing to yard work and housework. Then, a large team of Calvary volunteers will show up with supplies and skills to meet those needs and make a difference. Prayer teams will be available all day while work teams visit houses to meet immediate physical needs. We’ll also serve warm meals and offer inflatables for the kids while our team presents the Gospel in a fun and interactive ways.

Block Party

After three consecutive weeks, Adopt-a-Block will end with a massive block party on July 29. There, we’ll feed residents lunch, present a fun and entertaining message to kids, offer opportunities to pray with adults, and give away fun prizes. Afterward, we’ll invite them to our Back-to-school Service on Sunday, Aug. 12. We’ll even offer a free bus ride to the church on that day where they will have the chance to receive free haircuts, school photos, and complimentary school supplies.
