The Art Teacher will be responsible for developing in each student an interest in and the ability for creative expression in visual terms, using skills and techniques of artistic expression consistent with the school and Department of Health guidelines; to develop aesthetic understandings and appreciations; to discover and develop talents of students in the field of art.

Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities
- Reflect the purpose of the school which is to honor Christ in every class and in every activity.
- Lead students to a realization of their self-worth in Christ.
- Cooperate with Principal and Executive Team in implementing all policies, procedures, and directives governing the operation of the school.
- Teach classes as assigned following prescribed scope and sequence as scheduled by the Principal.
- Integrate Biblical principles and the Christian philosophy of education throughout the curriculum and activities.
- Maintain regular and accurate attendance and grade records to meet the demands for a comprehensive knowledge of each student’s progress.
- Keep students, parents and administration adequately informed of progress or deficiencies and give sufficient notice of failure.
- Follow the Matthew 18 principle in dealing with students, parents, and administration.
- Attend and participate in scheduled devotional, in-service, retreats, committee, faculty, and parent meetings.
- Know the procedures for dealing with issues of an emergency nature.
- Inform the Principal/Executive Team in a timely manner if unable to fulfill any duty assigned.
- The teacher should be skilled in a variety of art methods including Painting, Sculpture, Chalk, Pastel, Clay, and digital art technology with the ability to remain current.
- Creates lesson plans, aligned with current state standards, which drives instruction through formative assessment and differentiation.
- Maintains a safe, organized classroom, which supports students’ independent learning, collaboration, and choice.
- Utilizes a variety of effective instructional and management techniques.
- Monitor and maintain a positive classroom environment that supports the school-wide behavior expectations in which most students are engaged, incorporates mutual respect, and provides cooperative learning opportunities.
- Uses available technology/instructional media to enhance students’ learning experiences.
- Adheres to the Christian School Mission and Statement of Faith

Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Education or higher from an accredited institution
- 1 Year of art teaching experience preferred
