Development Coordinator (full-time)

The Development Coordinator fulfills the mission of Calvary Christian School PreK - 12th Grades by planning, guiding, and evaluating the school's fundraising and marketing efforts. Additionally, this position will establish community partnerships, join community events, and host parent partnership events. The school as an organization is changing and developing, and positions are moving and changing. Responsibilities for this position may change as needed.
Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities
Fundraising
1. Build relationships with and show love to, those who give time, talent, and treasure to the school.
2. Create a positive culture of stewardship and cultivate/maintain donor relations.
3. Work with the Principal and administrative team in formulating annual goals at CCS to fund the precise vision expansion needs of the school.
4. Develop and design a comprehensive annual plan to raise funds through individuals, corporations, businesses, and foundations.
5. Prepare/complete annual calendar of fundraising activities/events
6. Report regularly to the school administrator.
7. Maintain a donor management system. This system should ensure timely acknowledgment of all donations and establish a system for identifying who should acknowledge gifts at various giving levels.
8. Seek out, solicit, and prepare proposals for foundations and other grant-making organizations.
9. Attend continuing education and advancement opportunities that involve school development.
10. Expand the Planned Giving aspect of the school.
11. Participate in local service and networking organizations to build relationships with community members and businesses.
12. Other duties as assigned by the Principal and Head of School.
Marketing
1. Give leadership to monthly email newsletters and announcements to donors and community members.
2. Manage social media strategies & website updates.
3. Coordinate advertising with local media outlets.

Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- Or a combination of education and experience sufficient to get the job done.
Key Competencies
- Christian character and strong personal relationship with God
- Positive, encouraging attitude
- 3-5 years experience in fundraising development with a proven track record of success in raising funds and experience working with budgets and clear financial expectations.
- Extensive organizational and people skills with experience in working independently.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
- Proficient with Google programs and various donor-based software
- Enthusiasm for the school’s purpose and ability to share that excitement with others.
- Agreement with CCS and Calvary's mission, values, and policies.
- Able to build relationships that can lead to financial support, particularly in the sensitive area of dealing with friends and family of the school.
- Desire to build a small and highly motivated volunteer team who can help meet the financial vision of the school.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task
- High level of discretion and confidentiality
- Knowledge of a broad range of advancement activities
- Skill in critical thinking and planning
