Community Impact (Outreach) Director

The role of the Community Impact Director is to build the staff, teams, systems, and processes that execute the outreach strategy of Calvary Church.

Responsibilities:
  • Be the primary visionary leader for community impact ministries.
  • Be self-starting and entrepreneurial in your work.
  • Build trust and relationship along all lines of involvement with volunteers, staff, and leadership.
  • Work with Calvary Church leadership to understand the goals and objectives of the church. Pursue an understanding of the leadership’s expectations of the community impact ministry as it relates to all-church goals, services, and events.
  • Constantly evaluate the current ministry model. If changes are necessary, quickly build a consensus for changes with all constituencies.
  • Develop annual ministry goals and objectives and a budget that supports those goals. Manage activities to stay within the annual budget.
  • Work with other staff members to help create community impact opportunities for individuals and families within all spheres of ministry at Calvary Church.
  • Recruit, train, nurture, and equip a large network of volunteers and volunteer leaders to support community impact ministries.

Qualifications:
  • Proven effectiveness as a team player with senior leadership, peers, subordinates, volunteers, and community members.
  • Proven ability to lead and grow a volunteer-based ministry.
  • A mature Christian with a commitment to personal Spiritual growth and development—a fully devoted follower of Christ.
  • Strong organizational and decision-making skills.
  • Capable of balancing the demands of the job with personal or family needs.
  • Be able to present a plan for Calvary Church to reach the surrounding areas in alignment with church culture and local community needs (written or verbal).

Education & Experience
  • Previous experience with outreach or evangelism ministries with a proven track record of success. (3+ years)
  • 5 years’ experience in an outreach-focused ministry, a degree from an accredited institution, or in the process of securing a degree.
