High School Pastoral Associate

Support the High School Pastor through the implementation of teams and structures that help students Know God, Find Freedom, Discover Purpose, and Make a Difference.

Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Work through the leadership Pipeline 
    • It is the responsibility of all Calvary Staff members to work through the leadership pipeline. To do this. the coordinator must consistently be in the process of not only developing leaders, but also developing next-level leaders who could potentially become staff one day. The goal is to never be doing an assignment alone. Always bring someone along with you.
  • Oversee Communication
    • Create affective avenues of communication for students and parents that keep them informed, inspired, and connected. 
    • Oversee communication through social media, websites, emails, texts, and print materials.
  • Oversee small groups 
    • Recruit, train, and equip leaders who will help students find freedom by being part of a small group. 
    • Directly oversee the equipping of leaders through the delivery of materials, supplies, and activities that enhance the small group experience. 
    • Maintain an accurate view of student participation in small groups.
  • Create opportunities for students to discover purpose and make a difference 
    • Create a process for students to take next steps by discovering their purpose in order to make a difference. 
    • Oversee next steps process
    • Develop ways for students to make a difference 
    • Track student activity
  • Maintain an inviting atmosphere 
    • Directly oversee the atmospheres that create a welcoming environment for students as they come in. 
    • Build and oversee teams that make a welcoming environment.
    • Create and maintain processes for guest follow-up. 
    • Maintain an inviting environment where students feel welcomed.
  • Oversee follow-up 
    • Create avenues for students to enter into Calvary High School as a guest, but instantly become family. 
    • Provide timely connection for visiting guests.
    • Find ways to connect all students into groups. 
    • Follow up with group leaders when students haven’t been in attendance.
    • Track student participation weekly and share results with High School Pastor.
  • Support all High School services and Events 
    • Bring support to services and events by working through the systems set in place to bring great JHI experiences. 
    • Manage programs such as Planning Center, Asana, email, and other platforms to build communication and reinforce teams. 
    • Manage all teams for events and assure they are resourced and equipped for their roles.
  • Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or GED; or at least one to two years of related experience and/ or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of Internet and Microsoft office software including Word, Excel, Publisher and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of social media platforms and ability to know areas of Production of services including sound, lights and video.
  • Communication with volunteers, parents, and students
