Technical Director (full time)

The Technical Director oversees all technical aspects of visual and audio components at Calvary Church in order to help people know God, find freedom, discover their purpose, and make a difference.

Main Job Tasks & Responsibilities
  • Assume primary management of the live-production equipment at all Calvary Church campuses and venues.
  • Work with department leads to manage set-up and teardown for Calvary Church events on campus and off-site.
  • Prioritize and manage repairs and replacements of audio and visual components as needed.
  • Lead and train volunteer team members with an ongoing focus on discipleship and technical training.
  • Empower volunteers to operate the production equipment in all Calvary Church venues.
  • Work with supervisor to budget for upgrade projects
  • Attend rehearsals and meetings, as required.
  • Operate in live production positions for services and events as scheduled.
  • Understand basic concepts including, but not limited to, electrical safety, soundboards, cabling, circuits, music equipment, lighting and video equipment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Possesses general knowledge of industry-standard information for broadcast and live events.
  • Working knowledge of organizational, administrative, and budget management practices as demonstrated by their operational experience and/or education.

  • Is personable, with a genuine interest in others, balancing task orientation with sensitivity to people.
  • Issues clear and concise oral and written instructions and follows same as required
  • Good writing and personal computer skills for administration of email, preparation of budgets, correspondence and records
  • Is receptive to change and willing to promote new ideas and techniques that foster creative development and efficiency
  • Able to make independent decisions and problem solve in a timely and professional manner under high pressure situations
  • Is organized and attentive to detail

Education and Experience
  • College Degree in related field preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in live production required
  • 3+ years of experience in a church “setting of 5k” preferred
