The Elementary Principal provides Christ-centered leadership for Junior Kindergarten through 5th grade at Calvary Christian School. This role oversees daily operations, instructional excellence, and spiritual development while cultivating a joyful and safe learning environment. The Elementary Principal partners closely with parents, staff, and administration to align the division’s goals with the school’s mission, core values, and Expected Student Outcomes. They will work in close collaboration with the Secondary Principal and Jr. High Academic Dean to ensure alignment and continuity across all divisions of Calvary Christian School.

Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities
Spiritual Leadership & Culture Building
- Model a growing relationship with Christ and guide staff, students, and families in Biblical worldview thinking and discipleship.Foster a nurturing and grace-filled school culture that reflects Christ’s love, joy, and truth.
- Lead and organize weekly elementary chapel and spiritual formation efforts.
- Encourage biblical community and godly character through student interactions, daily routines, and restorative conversations.
- Instructional Oversight & Faculty Development
- Evaluate, mentor, and help hire elementary teachers to ensure spiritual alignment and instructional excellence.
- Conduct classroom observations and provide timely feedback and coaching.
- Facilitate curriculum mapping aligned with Expected Student Outcomes, accreditation standards, and Biblical worldview.
- Lead professional development workshops and teacher mentoring sessions to promote growth.
- Oversee early childhood and elementary literacy and numeracy initiatives, ensuring strong academic foundations.
Student Discipleship, Development & Behavior
- Implement restorative discipline grounded in Biblical truth, grace, and accountability.
- Partner with parents and staff to support academic and behavioral needs.
- Develop student leadership opportunities, service-learning, and character-building programs.
- Provide pastoral care and spiritual encouragement for students.
- Curriculum & Program Development
- Oversee curriculum for early childhood, elementary, and enrichment, ensuring rigor and biblical integration.
- Evaluate teaching strategies and assessments to prepare students for secondary transition.
- Guide the implementation of differentiated instruction, learning support, and intervention programs.
- Parent & Community Engagement
- Serve as the primary contact for parents regarding student progress, behavior, and school policies.
- Facilitate family engagement through parent meetings, educational workshops, and school events.
- Communicate regularly and transparently with families, supporting a healthy home-school partnership.
Administrative & Operational Leadership
- Oversee daily operations, including schedules, events, staff meetings, and routines.
- Ensure alignment with accreditation, safety protocols, and legal standards.
- Maintain accurate student records, attendance, and academic documentation.
- Oversee student supervision, including lunch/recess, classroom transitions, and after-school care.
- Partner with the Secondary Principal and Head of School for policy consistency across all divisions.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Head of School

Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s in Educational Leadership, Early Childhood, or related field preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in elementary education; leadership experience required.
- Knowledge of curriculum development, accreditation processes, and restorative practices.
- Proficiency in digital tools such as Google Suite, FACTS, and Microsoft Office.
- Must be an active member of Calvary Church
Relationships
- Supervises: Elementary teachers, enrichment teachers, instructional aides, and intervention coordinators.
- Collaborates With: Head of School, Secondary Principal, Jr. High Academic Dean, Student Services, and Admissions.
Physical Demands
- Regularly required to stand, walk, talk, hear, and use hands.
- Must be able to lift to 20 pounds and actively supervise throughout the day.
