Job Overview: The Children's Pastor at Calvary Church is responsible for leading and overseeing all aspects of children's ministry, from ages 6 months through fifth grade. This role involves ensuring that Calvary's core values are upheld, implementing engaging Bible-based programs, building strong relationships with children and their families, and developing a dedicated team of Directors, Coordinators, and Volunteers. The Children's Pastor should foster a nurturing, safe, and inclusive environment where children can grow in their faith and understanding of God.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Communicate the culture and vision of Calvary Church.
  • Lead, develop, and supervise the Children’s Ministry staff.
  • Guide the Children’s Ministry staff in recruiting and developing strong serve teams.
  • Ensure that all kids' ministry environments meet Calvary Church standards and core values.
  • Participate in evaluating the health and effectiveness of the in-service experience, curriculum, and discipleship strategy.
  • Ensure the Children’s Ministry Check-in team is well-equipped to provide families with a great first impression.
  • Oversee the setup and teardown of all kids’ locations.
  • Provide pastoral care as assigned.
  • Empower and resource team members to grow in their God-given gifts and lead volunteers in their development.
  • Oversee the team's spiritual health and unity in serving Calvary Church families.
  • Drive initiatives to partner with parents, including creating resources.
  • Create, facilitate, and execute ministry opportunities for Calvary families and their children throughout the week.
  • Track and report on the budget.

Requirements:
  • Vision for a world-class children’s ministry that reflects the church's foundational values.
  • Experience in pastoring and shepherding people.
  • Ability to coach and evaluate communicators.
  • Ability to partner with parents to disciple their children.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Strong networking capabilities to recruit new volunteers.
  • Strategic thinking and empowerment skills to build efficient systems and processes for the church's future.

Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Theology, Practical Ministries, Child Development, Christian Education, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of basic computer programs including Microsoft Office, Internet.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Previous experience in children's ministry or a similar role.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to relate to and engage with children of varying ages and backgrounds.
  • Capability to work collaboratively with church staff and volunteers.
  • Passion for children's ministry and a heart for nurturing the faith of young children.
