Lead Graphic Designer (full time)

The purpose of the Lead Graphic Designer is to create and protect Calvary’s visual identity and brand through high-level graphics. The Lead Graphic Designer oversees all aspects of graphic design, ensuring consistency and excellence across all platforms of Calvary.

Main Job Tasks & Responsibilities
Creative Direction and Strategy
  • Develop and execute the overall visual style and graphic content for all church communications, including but not limited to sermon series, major events, promotional materials, digital graphics, etc.
  • Collaborate with the Communications Director to create and maintain a consistent brand identity.
  • Develop style guide for Calvary Church and for major events, coaching fellow communications team members how to work within the parameters of the style guide.
  • Stay updated with the latest design trends, tools, and technologies to continuously improve the quality of our visual content.
Project Management
  • Manage multiple design projects from concept to completion, ensuring deadlines are met and deliverables are of the highest quality able to be achieved in the given timeframe.
  • Coordinate with various departments to understand their design needs and provide effective solutions (this pertains mostly to major departmental events; the junior graphic designer will work with departments on all other graphic needs).

  • Understanding of branding principles and ability to maintain and develop the church's visual identity
  • Skill in creating and enforcing brand guidelines to ensure consistency across all platforms
  • Expertise in using graphic design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
  • Understanding of printing processes and digital media principles
  • Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented environment

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, or a related field
  • A minimum of 3 years of professional graphic design experience
