Pray over Mental Health
May is Mental Health Awareness month. According to the CDC, Suicide is one of the leading causes of death in the United States.
In 2023, 49,000 people died by suicide.
That's 1 person every 11 minutes.
There are so many people, inside and outside the church, who are suffering. Pray with us that:
1. Those who are suffering from mental health issues would have the face of God revealed to them. That in their darkest moments, they would know that they are not alone, their lives have purpose, and that they are made in the Imago Dei (the Image of God).
2. Pray that those suffering would have the courage to reach out for help. In those dark moments, it can feel insurmountable to pick up the phone and talk to a friend or mental health professional. Ask that the Holy Spirit would give them the strength to speak to someone and find support on the other side.
3. Lift up the church. Pray that we as Christians would have compassion on those with mental health struggles. Depression and anxiety can make people act in ways that seem contrary to their best interest or even make them difficult to deal with. Would we as followers of Jesus be given patience in abundance and the eyes to see the hurt behind the actions and behaviors.
